First Edition2026–27

Arbitration Championship India

26–28February 2027New Delhi

A national arbitration competition for law students, organised by The PACT, with written rounds online in January and three days in New Delhi at the end of February.

Made for students who have already argued arbitration

Most teams at ArbCI will have reached the knockout stages of a national moot, represented their university at an international moot, or built a record through internships, writing and conferences. The season is planned for students at that stage, so the rounds come with a day of training from practitioners and a route into internships.

  1. The rounds

Every team takes part in all four rounds, two written online and two oral in New Delhi, arguing both sides. Cumulative scores across the four decide who reaches the Final.

  2. The training day

The day before the oral rounds is spent with practitioners, and it carries its own certificate.

  3. The judges

Practising arbitration professionals, academics and law firm practitioners judge the rounds. The Final is argued before a tribunal of leading names in Indian arbitration.

  4. Internships

The winners will be offered internship opportunities with leading law firms in India, and other high-ranking teams may be too where places allow. The number and nature of places will be announced as they are confirmed.

Three routes in

ArbCI is by invitation, for currently enrolled LLB and LLM students at institutions in India. A majority of each team needs to qualify through at least one route.

  1. Route I: National arbitration moots

You reached the quarter-finals, semi-finals or final of a national arbitration moot, or won it.

  2. Route II: International arbitration moots

You represented your university at an international arbitration moot, at any stage, including national selection rounds.

For example, the Vis Moot, the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot, the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot, or a comparable international arbitration moot.
